Geoscience connects to some of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing our planet—from climate change and renewable energy to natural hazards, water and the critical raw materials we need for a sustainable future.

This six-session online course will give teachers the opportunity to explore these topics alongside expert geoscientists and educators, build their knowledge and confidence, and create practical resources that can be used directly in the classroom.

🌍 Learn from geoscientists and create your own resources

A key part of the programme is the opportunity for teachers to work directly with a geoscientist to develop curriculum-facing resources.

Working together, teachers and geoscientists will explore how current geoscience research can be translated into engaging, relevant and classroom-ready activities. This collaborative approach ensures that the resources are grounded in real-world science while meeting the needs of teachers and their students.

By the end of the programme, participants will have developed new knowledge, connections and resources that they can take straight back to their classrooms.

🎓 What can you expect?

Across six evening sessions, you will:

  • Explore a range of exciting and relevant geoscience topics

  • Hear from geoscience researchers and professionals

  • Work directly with a geoscientist to co-create curriculum-facing classroom resources

  • Discover engaging ideas and activities for your students

  • Develop your confidence in teaching geoscience-related topics

  • Connect with other teachers and geoscience professionals

  • Share ideas and experiences as part of a growing geoscience education community

You don’t need to be a geoscience expert to take part. Whether you already teach geoscience-related topics or are simply interested in finding out more, this course is designed to support you.
